In his day a fearsome warrior and, later, a powerful and dreadful necromancer, he was awarded the rulership of Vlach for his merciless campaign against the Kurnish barbarians. From his citadel, a converted abbey that came to be called the Black Church, Janos ruled his county with the same pitiless hand that he wielded against the Kurn. An investigation prompted by the disappearance of a distant relative of the King lead to the crusade against his lands and the necromancer's final death at the hands of the One Faith.
